Positive feedback for the FIRST Day care taster session
We recently hosted our first day care taster session in Portland, bringing together members of the local community to explore the idea of a new day centre.
It was lovely to meet people from the island who shared valuable feedback and support, highlighting the growing need for day centre and accessible home help services in the area.
A day centre offers more than just care—it provides companionship, meaningful activities, and a sense of belonging. For many older people, it can help reduce loneliness, support mental wellbeing, and create enjoyable routines. For families, it brings reassurance knowing their loved ones are safe, supported, and socially connected.
Home help also makes a real difference day to day—whether it’s help with shopping, preparing meals, or simply having someone there for companionship, supporting people to stay happy and independent at home.
